hi, i’m yu! my eyes are always drawn to the fragile; movements of nature, like the branching of roots or brushing against a stranger’s shoulder, that cannot be arrested. yet, i find myself desperately chasing its afterimage. this yearning to live is translated to surreal images; whether on print, canvas or the digital screen. inspired by observations of everyday experiences and human relationships, i approach my work with a delicate balance between spontaneity and precision.

i’m constantly seeking ways across traditional and digital mediums to capture the indescribable changes that occur between self and environment. when working with traditional printmaking, i’m intrigued by its unpredictable characteristics and ability to construct still yet moving images. illustration pushes me to experiment with new and exciting visual languages.
